I don't understand why TERF is considered a "slur". It's an honest, accurate shorthand for a genuine worldview--a radical feminist who excludes trans people. There are SO MANY meaner things you could call a person like that...

yeah for real!!! I always thought it was a kindness that people chose to discuss that worldview using its own preferred name. like... what would the preferred label be? how do you distinguish that person from a feminist who is inclusive of trans people?

Funny they feel that way about a simple explicative word... and they're not the only ones! I mean, it's odd that racists think being called racist is a slur or fascists being called fascist is a slur too. Hmmm... Beginning to sense a pattern here!

It's the same reason some transphobes consider "cis" a slur. They want to keep on believing that the way they think is the default, "normal" state of being and that any attempt to put them in a category is in defiance of that.

I once saw someone make the observation of: "If TERF is a slur, then how come I don't hear kids using it while playing on Xbox live?" TERFs exist and just get mad they're being called out on their bigotry.
