I think you'd see a lot more attention paid to it if the timing of release was different. around now most time is blocked out for big-name news. though if not for the guarantee + resulting pressure to release within a timeframe, no indie games would be releasing right now, so

So fucking weird that "now is just not" considering what I know about traditional timeframes, & the fact that goose game got its window clearly so perfect;& why Doom Eternal is having to wait till march; because even the biggest triple A is "miss the holiday window?"fuck Jan/Feb!

doom announced a delay due to development issues, didn't they? goose game is an extreme outlier--i wouldnt use games like that or undertale to decipher what's true for 99.9% of games. look at how many other games launched the same week; clearly it didn't work for them lol

Unless the Doom project utterly shit the bed and is in actually shit, in which case a 6 month delay with a timeline for release plans seems woefully optimistic; they are more than likely just a few weeks behind &it's 6 months because releasing in Jan/Feb is conventionally suicide
