The common wisdom amongst indies has been to never launch your game after September, bc AAA owns Q4. Makes for one heck of an indie release schedule in September.... >.> at this point I think the only safe thing to do as an indie is just never launch a game

A lot of journalists didn’t get around to it until December or January... that was partially why so many major gaming sites wrote about our steam “learning about this game” bug this January.

It was kind of a bummer in that context to see people at kotaku and polygon say wandersong was one of their 2018 GOTYs... like, a couple weeks after they had published their GOTY lists without it.
