Yeah!!!! I think one thing that makes them so compelling is the twisted way they NEED to please the mom.... so tragic. So. Good!!!!!!

Yeah... I believe (from what I've read other people mention) that's quite common on children of abusive parents, plus for these two there's the extra layer of the fact that they actually DO need to please their mothers as members of violent societies like Alternative/the Horde

What I personally love about them is how morally gray they are... it's rare that we get such complex female characters in general, much less ones that are so difficult to place in the good vs evil scale and so worthy of pages upon pages of analysis and meta!
