So we released our game 2 years ago today. Honestly last year on the first anniversary I was somehow still too frazzled from the experience to have any sort of distance on it. We'd released our big post-launch content patch thing only like 1.5 months earlier. I was still wrecked.

I don't post as much about like my experience w/ the game these days. Like a lot of topics I just got tired of hearing myself talk about it after awhile. If you've seen me drop off talking about something important it's likely bc I one day just yelled Oh My God Shut Up at myself.

But after a couple years and a whole lot of water going under the bridge I can say that I'm really proud of what we did, and I'm constantly blown away by how people connect with it and what it's meant to them. That's like all you can really ask for.

It's hard for me to just be proud of something I was involved in. Like I can be proud of other folks on it. Like geez Alec wrote SO MUCH soundtrack. Bethany poured so much of herself into the history of the town. Finji did, geez, so much. But me? Eh. Whatevs.

But I look back on it now and for all of the ups and downs of the experience, the things I'd do differently now, I'm just proud of what we did. We were very lucky that it turned out how it did and that it somehow found an audience.

literally last night I was talking to someone who is from western PA and really connected with the game because of her experiences growing up around here, not far from a corn maze we drive out to each October. lot of convos like that with people from all over these past two years
