As a longtime Pokémon fan, I am in total disbelief to be saying this: The new Pokémon games are totally sweet, and are doing really good new things that I hope the main series picks up on 0-0

From what I’ve heard there are a few glaring issues in the game; But if the game is fun, then its fun I suppose.
What have you heard? (Genuinely curious, want to know if I’m blinded by hype)

I've seen some issues with online battling, with people being able to easily bring in hacked Pokemon into fights. I've also heard people talk negatively about how there is little to no after game content and the content the game does have doesn't justify a $60 price

Aside from that, the game is a little too casual for a lot of current pokemon fans, with the game allowing you to run from trainer fights, not letting you challenge a gym unless you have a type effective pokemon or npcs giving you pokemon you can't obtain anywhere else
