Excited to check this out! Question: Is it possible to use this to detect when a beat/note plays in a song, not just the BPM? I have actions I would like to perform on certain beats.

yep, it does a LOT with that! you enter the BPM of your music and it uses that info to tell you every time a beat, half-beat or new measure happens.

My song has parts where the beat picks up rapidly in parts, it able to detect that?

One song can only be assigned one BPM, but you could change the speed with pitch effects, or split it into pieces to change to a faster section. If the speed changes by double or half you can also just detect half-beats or every other beat.

That makes sense. I'm assuming then that a specific note or sound can't be detected?

That’s correct. TBH, anything that tries to “live” detect stuff like that from audio output always uses a lot of computation and has inaccuracies. For a game you’re making, you’ll always have a better result by hand crafting it.
