THE NOTE: Eventually, someone will win Iowa. But what was lost as Democrats began their nominating process may never be recovered.

  4. I’m still here in Iowa. It’s bordering on chaos. Precincts are still reporting results. In a world where the news cycle changes every hour, the media is not being “impatient” when there are NO public results 14 hours after caucus votes were counted. It’s 2020...not 1920.

  5. App issues aside, the caucus system is inherently confusing for participants and those who have to count people...rather than votes. Here’s just one confusing moment at one precinct in Iowa. Imagine if moments like this play out in more than 16-hundred precincts.

  6. Pro tip: Don’t tell anyone in the Iowa Democratic Party “there’s an app for that.” They’ve clearly lost their sense of humor.

  7. MN Senator Amy Klobuchar says she’ll head to New Hampshire tonight or early morning. Everyone still waiting for results after technical glitches cause delays, but says she’s heard enough anecdotal results to consider her Iowa performance a success.

  8. She was more concerned about people in New Hampshire hearing her speak...she’s heading there soon.

  9. The 2nd and final vote count from Johnston, Iowa, Precinct #2: Klobuchar 106 Sanders 83 Buttigieg 81 Warren 69 Biden/Yang/Steyer “not viable.” Klobuchar picked up 31 more votes on 2nd count. Sanders just 7 so she took the lead. Just one of 1600+ precincts.

  10. Klobuchar is narrowly behind Sanders after the first vote in Johnston precinct #2: Sanders 76 Biden 37 Buttegieg 70 Warren 59 Klobuchar 75 Yang 34 Steyer 4

  11. In this one Johnston, Iowa, precinct Amy Klobuchar received enough votes to remain “viable” here. She needed at least 54...and received 73. Initially, they counted 61...but 12 more were seated nearby. Here’s a look at the process.

  12. There are 358 Iowa voters at this precinct caucus at Johnston Middle School. All are sitting in sections marked for individual candidates. To be “viable” after “first count,” a candidate will need 54 “votes.” After the first count, they’ll reshuffle one time.

  13. MN Senator Amy Klobuchar just addressed a caucus at Johnston Middle School in suburban Des Moines. About 350 people are here, 50-60 more than four years ago.

I did enjoy the 10-second ode to Bruce Springsteen with “Born in the USA.” I didn’t notice the physical fitness of which you speak 😂

A few hundred people packed into a BBQ restaurant in Johnston, Iowa, for a Super Bowl watch party with Senator Amy Klobuchar. While awaiting Klobuchar’s arrival, yes, you can watch the Super Bowl or professional bowling on TV. – mjesto: Jethro's BBQ n' Pork Chop Grill
