It's cute how apt-get thinks you're always going to want to upgrade all potentially upgradeable packages. Cute, but terribly, utterly wrong.
Current status: once again I would like to set apt-get on fire with the force of my hate. It's nice that --ignore-hold sometimes doesn't.

Attempting to automate things involving apt-get is a great way to wind up hating it very much.

@hirojin We specifically want to hold certain things, eg we never want the kernel to upgrade unless we do it explicitly and directly. -

@hirojin Hold freezes a package via the command line. Pinning manipulates package version & source priorities via complex config files.
