@thatcks Not surprising, it fits the intersection of popularity and power user curves well enough. (At least, it did back when I used it.)
Increasingly, the ArchLinux wiki is the reference resource I turn to for weird X and Linux stuff. There's a lot of nice info there.

@bitprophet@thatcks that and the Arch Way is minimal changes to upstream, so apart from refs to pacman most wiki info is distro-independent -
