I think part of it is that Lisp syntax languages are so clearly in love with lists and cons cells, to the tacit detriment of other options.
I not infrequently wish that I felt attracted to Lisp-syntax languages because they get lots of love, but so far I don't at all.

To be clear: it's the Lisp syntax that fails to attract me. The concepts are often neat and I use them in other languages when I can.
