@thatcks to be fair, I don't know a single platform that doesn't have dozens of equally-popular flag parsers (including C)
Practically everyone is going to replace #golang 's flag module so the practical result of no real getopt in the stdlib is massive chaos.

@jordansissel#golang is pretty unique in shipping a deliberately broken version in the stdlib. Other people ship okay ones (C included). -

@thatcks When I did http://godoc.org/launchpad.net/gnuflag …, I kept to the standard flag package's interface. So just use that and switch if needed.
