@thatcks agreed. i posit: if you were bad (unorganized, inefficient, whatever) before, you still have the same problems after automation.
My overall view on #sysadmin automation is that automation adds complexity as well as removes it. How each side balances out varies.

@thatcks For instance, I think there's a category difference between sysadmins who can handle ~5 systems and sysadmins who can handle ~500 -
