Nostalgiac games are different for some folks. I actually don't look back fondly at Mario or any of the OG's, really all that much. When I get nostalgiac - I think of the old text-based MUDs, MUSHs - some of the first multiplayer RPG games. I am *this* close to trying again.

I remember spending HOURS - it was different, because we were one of the first families I knew of that had internet due to my dad's job. It was rough, cut out a lot - but I knew after I was done homework, me and my brother would sit down for a couple hours every night.

It was nuts - like 80-100 players running around, doing quests. It was like reading a book on steroids. Then I got into my own MUDs when the internet broadened. There was roleplaying, player-built lore, factions, storylines and grudges. It was amazing.
