You know, I thought I would be angry, or at least annoyed with the unvaxxed in ICU. But I’m not. Because as I walk around, seeing patient after patient on their bellies, fielding calls from worried family, analyzing ever worsening bloodwork, reading patients histories…

You have me in tears. I spent 6 weeks beside my spouse in our ICU..during a kinder gentler time. And I never want to see it again...cannot imagine the horror story now. Back then he was assigned a nurse ...each patient had their nurse. I understand it's 3 to 1 nurse now

Same. My husband spent 6 weeks of the summer of 2019 in the ICU. I’m still working through that trauma. I have been super careful during the pandemic because I would rather not see the inside of an ICU room for a few years at least.

Former ICU nurse here. It is so tough on the family. It’s scary and intimidating. I used to walk the family through every machine, every tube, every IV & feeding fluid. Explained it all. It seemed to help when I broke it down into separate things.

I have a complete diary of that time. I have every med he was on, Therapy used, etc etc. I kept it for him if he woke up, I wanted him to know the extraordinary measures that were taken to save his life. It's been over 20 years..I haven't looked at it but I know where it is
