Decade after decade of condemnation, sanctions, flashy celebrity campaigns, then engagement and diplomacy, not a damn thing to show for it. Either the world cuts out the BS and wipes this army off the face of the planet, or Burma will be North Korea forever.

I think the Tatamdaw are betting that global investors, extractive industry will not be deterred by their power grab and will do enough business to keep their beloved ethno-state on economic life support. FDI took only 18 months to bounce back after the genocide.
