I mean honestly. Are we surprised they made a shitty thing even shittier? A controversial misogynist story adapted only by men.

OBVIOUSLY men can and do write terrific women characters and stories. DC seems to go out of their way not to hire them. Or, y'know, women.
-
So instead we get an emotionless Batman who women dress like or in latex to get into his pants so he can have silent sex with them.
-
Instead of Babs being the pawn that Joker paralyses and assaults, they double down on that and also have her beg Batman for sex.
-
Babs. Begging. Batman. For. Sex. That is a thing DC did to make Batgirl a "stronger" character.
-
And then to "empower" Batgirl they make her act like a dick towards women and be flattered by manipulative bad guys objectifying her.
-
But don't worry, Batman is there to explain to Batgirl that she's being objectified and a silly little girl. FEMINISM YO.
-
Batgirl was the first main Gotham woman to be introduced with explicitly ZERO romantic interest in Batman. She was REVOLUTIONARY.
-
I guess DC have set us straight. Ain't no thing as an independent woman, just little girls begging to get into Batdaddy's pants.
-
I sincerely hope that Batman stans reject the new TKJ too. A minor point considering, but it's an utter character assassination of him too.
-
FYI, the animated TKJ apparently has a ton of jokes about disabilities and mental health, as well as crapping on sex workers

-
I'm no longer a DC fan but I care a great deal about the importance of Batgirl and Barbara Gordon in the history of US comics. RIP.
-
Does anyone know about the rumours that women animators walked off the project btw?

@marcyjcook I stopped supporting ALL DC media after New 52 was announced. This only reminds me I made the right choice. -
I was on board for New 52 only to be utterly disappointed at all turns.
-
To this day I say DC sold all their IPs to fanfic writers and shut down in 2011. No movies, comics, or TV for me.
-
actual fanfic writers would be much better tbh!
-
I'm not hip to fan fiction admittedly so no offense meant to fix writers who do a good job of course
-
oh no, I know what you meant. Fanboys writing hasn't lead to much good for superheroes.

I knew it would be bad. I didn't expect, in 2016, that no one would recognize basic bad ideas. At all.
-
seems to be the DC way :/
