That isn't of course the way that oppression, marginalisation, and privilege work. There is no one class of people who are more oppressed than anyone else. Whether it's your race, gender, class, disability, illness, sexuality, orientation et al or lack thereof.

What is important is to be aware of where you have privilege, where you do not, and where you face oppression or marginalisation. That requires constant reflecting and listening. Mainstream feminism has a history of being racist, classist, ableist. It does not reflect.

Cis women who see the oppression dealt them but wilfully ignore the oppression done to others is precisely why feminism has remained primarily a movement of the rich or comfortable white cis women. Other feminists exist. But they do so by action, not passively.

Trans-exclusionary cis women do not abide by any internal anti-trans logic. They ignore, patronise and abuse trans women because they are "really men". They ignore, patronise and abuse trans men because they are "really women". That's a corrupt logic.

But when you consider that their only priority is somehow winning back a mythical Most Oppressed status - something that no group actually lays claim to The logic becomes clear. Anyone who disagrees they are the most oppressed is the enemy. Anyone who agrees is a friend.

That's why they have token trans women they platform to speak about how ~real women~ have it worse. That's why they cosy up to homophobic and misogynist men as long as they agree that ~real women~ need protecting. That's why they are predominantly conservative. A status quo.
