Yeah. It sucks and you never truly feel comfy sharing anything personal or meaningful ever again. Friends, work, personal victories, etc.. It'll never feel comfortable ever again to share those things. They'll always feel like sharing them means they could be taken from you. =<

Yep. That's exactly why I stopped having friends over when I was a kid and why I didn't share a lot of thing with them. I wanted to limit the breakage.

ehh that's messed up that's like if a parent came in and destroyed a kids lego building, thats really extremely wrong and i'd even consider it child abuse
-
A lot of it can be worse than that. Mine was my parent handing me a sledgehammer and making me smash my gameboy and my pokemon cartridge. At whatever age i was that felt like being told to beat my pet to death. That shit still sticks with me. o_o

Hell. Talk about cruel and _not understanding_ what their kid does for fun.
-
The parent knows enough about minecraft to know where to find the save file, but not enough to understand the amount of work it represents. Or they do understand, and are that cruel. I sincerely hope this AITA is a creative writing exercise, not a real query.

It's always nice when you see an AITA that's so clearly "yes, yes you are, without a doubt".
-
The answer is easy, too bad a kid has to suffer because of a parents poor parenting. As a parent you don't just say, there will be consequences, you specify those consequences exactly. Kids can't and shouldn't be able to imagine their parents being so cruel.

I saw this the other day and just can’t understand why a parent would do that to their kid. It’s just so needlessly cruel. And then not to understand they went too far is just... wow
-
Right? This makes me feel bad for the kid and I'm not his parent. Taking away computer time is one thing, destroying their work is another.
