I can't believe that the "3D printed medical valve" thing is now at the center of a discussion about whether unsafe material made by untrained amd non-medical staff should be used for medical valves if the alternative is absolute and certain death for everyone who needs a valve.

The worst part is the manufacturer who won't supply the proper print thing despite being out of circulation, then threatening to sue because they're making replacement values in a dire emergency. Profits over people is gross.

agree on this of course but risk is potential scenarios where shady companies provide shitty solutions that put lives at risk because that is inevitable without safeguards so need to be able to addendums/caveats to the regulations to allow this but protect v that
