You know that story of the studio that sacrificed everything for everything? Yeah, that's the exception to hundreds of stories of studios that sacrificed everything for nothing. That studio that sacrificed everything & made it? They won't keep making it. It is unsustainable.
Here's the simple truth: you can keep trying to push people to the brink - at some point, they will go over it. You can cut everything close time and time again until you end up cutting too closely. It won't hold up. You won't hold up. And you'll take everyone else with you.
"with less and less developers willing to put in the extra care in a product" translates to " With less and less developers willing to work 20-40 extra hours a week for no extra pay and eventually experiencing burn out" Am I translating this right?
He was expecting everyone to work 100 hours a week and wreck their lives just like he was. I wish everyone would stop this shit.
