Clearview is now the face of First Amendment fundamentalism. An infinite “internet freedom” agenda to ensure you can’t take a single step outside without being known & tracked by a surveillance state, stalker, or worse.

The saddest part of the Google commercial was the part where all of Loretta's data was sold to advertisers

When we try to pay too little for things, it usually means exploiting labor, promoting slavery, creating more pollution, or otherwise externalizing the damage. Low prices often carry high costs. We in the West can't afford the true costs of what we think we deserve. Less is more.

    - driver needs to get a positive GPS ping that they are at the right location (can be challenging when GPS isn't precise) - driver doesn't take delivery photo if they hand package to recipient - delivery photos can't have people or pets, or even reflections of people

I asked an Amazon delivery driver a few questions, and got some interesting answers... (not sure if this is national policy in US)

... data that is collected will eventually be abused, lost, breached, shared, sold, assimilated, aggregated, machine-learned, inferenced, folded, spindled, mutilated, or used against you in a court of law or by some black box algorithms (and you'll never even know it)

Mosaic Theory of privacy harms: The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. DO NOT COLLECT Data that isn't collected can't be abused.

Great. Received notice that I may be part of a class action under Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, 740 ILCS 14/1, et seq. (“BIPA”) 1. Part of the settlement is that the company will change its *collection* practices, NOTHING is said about biometrics already collected

It only masks the Targeting symptoms so you don't get as creeped out, but the Tracking disease still rages on silently.

Any gig-worker app that cannot make the business model work while paying $15/hour (after expenses!), basic benefits, vacation time, and family leave should not exist. Running a modern-day serf economy behind a slick UI is disgraceful.

"Facebook keeps gathering more and more data about us, with few laws restricting how it can use it" • Use new private browsing tab for each site; avoid apps • Never log into anything unless necessary • Block in browser, on computer, in router, via DNS... all ways possible
