I once grabbed a hot soldering iron by the metal body with my whole hand cus I thought I had turned it off...
Thank goodness I worked in the surgery center at the time. They got me a cream for burns that made it literally heal overnight.
No bubbles nor sensitive skin.

Speaking as an artist, sometimes you need to step away from your work in order to not screw it up. Now my cintiq or sketchpad won't take a finger, but I get what you're saying.

None of my screwdrivers fit the large slot in my irons, so I made a tool like this one from Lee Valley. Really nice for these large screws. It's worth it if you use planes regularly (taking apart for sharpening is a breeze)

This is why work holding is so important in a shop. Taking a couple of seconds or minutes to clamp something securely before working on it can save you a lot of grief later on.

This is one of the big reasons I try to use an impact driver, even just a little one. Don’t need to use as much force and also less likely to strip the screw.
