I wonder if Adam experiences this same phenomenon when doing work for hire more or less than doing work without being under the gun. My guess is that he takes more time to be careful and not hurt himself when the budget and time matter more.
These asides on practice and philosophy are always a joy. I try to stay self-critical in creating for science and art, but the looking at natural consequences angle brings a lot of clarity on otherwise difficult to diagnose problems. Thanks!
That plane was a thing of beauty, my Dad would have had a tear in his eye watching the restoration
When working with blades, I have to deliberately tell myself to put on my cut proof gloves just in case, and I tell myself to look at all my scars from errant blades if I decide I don't need to put them on.
We need a screwdriver injury demerit badge , everyone has done it , we get in a hurry and get ahead of the brain, and the common sense .
This had to be one of the most beautiful and important tool tips one has gained. The old mantra of push through & tough it out really does not help. Wasted more time and effort when should have stopped.
