Hard to capture the joy of the sudden arrival of @chesaboudin and then watch him coolly fend off his critics who were clearly ill prepared to mount their case against him

lol. i mean they think he is a socialist and they have seen a lot of crime with their own eyes. there was a hysterical moment where tech seemed to be on the side of anecdotes and chesa on the side of data.

Except he doesn’t trust his own data and doesn’t have a data analyst and they run DOS. So, how accurate is that data exactly? He can’t even quantify if he’s doing a bad or good job. He needs and deserves better IT.

He’s willing to cite data when it supports his argument, and muddy the water on data quality when it doesn’t. He doesn’t need a data analyst. He needs to stop making bad faith arguments.

The data is also not adjusted per capita and is wrong because of under reporting that’s going on. Not to mention reclassifying crime constantly.

When Chesa visited the Castro Merchants Association, the owner of a third generation Castro business told him she knows his numbers were wrong, because she doesn’t even call the daily shoplifting in anymore. He didn’t really have an answer for that.
