Honestly.....yes. He knows his kinfolk will show up after 4pm if the start time is at 4pm. Even if they are late they will be on time with the 3:17 start time.

Sooo ppl who can see this for FREE in the place he played college ball giving folks an opportunity to see a HOF induction speech in person where otherwise they wouldn't be able to go to Canton is selfish???? Some of you need to get a life

Perfectly stated! Hope it starts a trend. I know I'd sure rather see my home town guy make his speech right up the road in a place where the A/C is cranked. How many times do we see the camera pan to the families as they're drenched in sweat & fanning themselves? Way to go TO!

You guys are missing the point. Canton Ohio is where the Hall of Fame is. It is tradition for all Hall of Famers to get inducted and give their speeches their. This is just yet another example of how selfish and obnoxious TO really is. He should show some class and grow up

I disagree that I'm "missing the point". You have your assessment and I have mine. And as far as obnoxious goes, that's also subjective. I've seen several "obnoxious" speeches made on the stage in Canton. Most athletes are obnoxious. Oddly, it's usually what gets them to the HOF.
