I remember those days when I had to make the choice of either going back into the IT workforce, or continue working on a broken game in order to right a wrong that a publisher had done in my name, and with my IP.

Broken, beaten, distraught, but resolute, I made the one choice that most would never have considered an option. I worked on fixing & patching Battlecruiser 3000AD, my 1st game, which the publisher was selling worldwide, neither paying me, nor supporting it.

Amid a deluge of derision and vilification across EVERY single gaming media, BBS & Usenet, I worked - angrily & resentfully, to fix my game for those who had bought it with no chance of getting a refund. I did it alone.

Almost a year later, against the backdrop of what became known as the glorious Great Usenet Flamewar, and legal action, I finished that game. Then in the ultimate FU to the publishers, I released it on the Internet. For free.

If you don't believe anything about this farce, believe one thing, and one thing only, people are going to jail over this project's failure. The CryTek lawsuit is immaterial and inconsequential to that, as it's only the tip of the iceberg.
