So having worked for gaming companies that are owned by Asian companies, I could tell you tales of having to call and try to explain why we won't be localizing certain games. I learned to start the conversation with "Do you have a Mom? How about a sister, daughter...?"

What does "localizing certain games" mean? Not trying to be flippant. I'm just not familiar with that term.

No prob, good question. Industry term, not mainstream. It means you take a game title from one country and translate it's text / audio for another market. Sometimes you also make other changes to fit cultural differences or age targets.
