It’s sad. I grew up in Chicago suburbs and we had a friendly beat cop that knew our names. I’m ashamed I didn’t understand anti-police sentiment until the last 4-5 years. I still struggle with my thoughts on how this problem gets solved. It’s so much worse than I thought.
Same background...but had a great Uncle who was a top cop and he told some very dark stories that removed that illusion for me.

We do need law enforcement but we need good principled law enforcement. I like the idea of deploying mental health experts and social workers. Other countries have special units for domestic abuse, different demographics. A lot of care needs to go into reforming LE.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
