I'm thinking the 3D leap complicated and slowed development down, 3D is far harder to make than 2D, especially when inexperienced. a MD game could take 8-12 months to make, Sat. could be 2+ years. The Sat. was similar to their arcade boards, and ports make cheap library filler.
