Encarta WAS the internet for me early on. Bookshelf too (which had the cut down Encarta but also some periodicals that were really awesome). Cinemania is still the best one of all time tho
I actually had a version where it came with a giant hard cover Encarta encyclopedia book. I used it to keep a door open in my office.
