Sometimes people have this app (block chain twitter) that blocks the followers of people you blocked. I’ve had to use it for Islamophobes. I’m sure there are casualties.

i've occasionally blocked people i've never interacted with because they have an image in their avi that triggers me (in the non-casual use of the word). i always worry they'll notice and feel confused/upset.
