Slavery was a choice. One slave master and his family vs 50-100 slaves. They could have rose up and took over the plantation, but they were mentally trapped. Research Nat Turner. This is why Kanye keeps talking about mental prisons. We all have them but fail to recognize it.https://twitter.com/alex_strats/status/991499856115007488 …

I believe in mental prisons too but saying slavery was a choice is a stretch. Imagine being in unfamiliar land surrounded by people who want to oppress you and do everything in their power to do so. Even if you do revolt or escape where do you go, how do you provide for yourself

when you don’t even know who to trust let alone obtain the resources - which the enemy has - to survive

I never said it would be easy to escape. Nonetheless, attempting to escape was an option.

And plenty of people did! I agree with a lot of what Kanye says but this one I just can’t get behind. By his logic you could say the holocaust was a choice

I'm not behind Kanye. He brought up the topic, but these are my own thoughts. Being a victim in the Holocaust was a choice. Rebellion is always an option on the table. Everything is always on you. If someone takes advantage of you, it's your fault for not catching it.

Sure the oppressor is a piece of shit and should pay but ultimately you have to take ownership of everything in your life.
