Obviously more goes into it. We all have preferences and things we find attractive but that varies from person to person. I'm looking for basic truths that are found across all humans.

What is your definition of on a primal level?
-
Primal level being those things which are born into us by nature and out of our control.
-
Have you read c.s.Lewis, Mere Christianity? Since we are born into sin, the things which are born into us are evil. Therefore, I take that as the primal level, human nature, as bad.
-
No I haven't read it! I use to read a lot of C.S. Lewis in my early teens. Definitely a great writer. Human nature is indeed the level I'm making my observations through.

I see what you’re saying, I just don’t agree with those views of “attractiveness” at all and find it super sad that anyone does.
-
A lot of attractiveness comes from shared values, but to the mass of society those do seem to be the primary ones. If you had the choice between two men with equal moral values and good family life, but one was far more attractive and successful, who would you choose?
-
This seems like something no one wants to face as being true. Physical attractiveness and status are OBJECTIFICATIONS of people and that’s what makes it seem gross. But that doesn’t make them untrue so I see no reason to fool ourselves here.
