Further I would claim that one of the Nazis, perhaps subconscious, goals was to exterminate the Jews in order to cycle time back to a moment before the revelation of the innocence of the victim.https://twitter.com/Ahimsa_Satya_/status/1040995423140306944 …

I don’t think history repeats itself at the level of physics. We are headed in a direction in linear time. The reason history or human behavior seems to repeat is because we are imitating tradition constantly with various spasms of innovation that we cannot go back from. https://twitter.com/tellfisher/status/1040756357891276801 …

This is something AJ mentioned last night that I've been considering. Human nature does seem to be repetative. For example: I personally know a few guys who have screwed me over in the past, I now don't trust them, because I know they will repeat that bad behavior.

I was definitely taking the macro physics view, time is linear and I do agree humans are imitative. I guess this could be seen as a cycle? I'm not sure where to put all of this yet. I do however still strong believe: history does not repeat itself.

There is a sortof subconscious imitative movement in society that can account from some sort of cyclical behavior but it’s not that it can’t be transcended.

Human beings are mimetic Not to be a pedant, but the criticism of history repeating (or not repeating) -human beings are pattern recognition engines, we follow Archetypal modes of behavior and thinking Both on a micro and macro level

When I say history is repeating, I’ll clarify -there are clearly recurrent micro and macro patterns of behavior that arise across centuries across every culture and society Do literal events and reasons for them repeat? No

Thanks for clarifying. I do believe these cycles can be broken but it is a rare and revolutionary moment.

The nazi thing is an interesting observation. So rewriting the sacrificing of an innocent lamb..? what made you come to this?

From Girard but I also think it’s the only explanation for why the Nazis intensified the holocaust at the expense of war resources as the war came to a close.
