It’s 2018 & high school football coaches are still building their S&C programming around running. This is ignorant, foolish & shows your lack of commitment to your team. You ask these kids to give their “all” yet show no level of commitment to understanding S&C.

Is this along the lines of our talks on variations; finding different ways to achieve the same goal? With running you abuse ur joints and the only real benefit is cardiovascular endurance. Air squats/burpees build cardio endurance but they also are a form of resistance training

In theory maybe.. go to a cross country meet and observe the number of braces/taped muscles/shin compressions. I distance ran for 6years before I started lifting and definitely got beat up. This was largely due to bad running form, which is why I’m obsessed with lifting properly

Well, not just theory. Thats research. Of 1000+ people from numerous articles. People wearing that stuff doesnt = abuse on joints. Likely due to over/improper training or like you said, running with bad form which is completely diff from running itself being abuse.
