This is absolutely ridiculous. It IS about the freedom and democracy of Venezuelans. “Destabilize Maduro’s government”? Where have you been all the years that Maduro has killed and jailed and starved the Venezuelan people so he and his criminal government can remain in power?

Roger’s opinions are almost always different that those of the American media. I respect his intelligence and independence; he knows so much more about international politics than do I, I find myself wishing he would tweet threads explaining his positions.

Since the Cold War ended almost 30 years ago there have been no US interventions other than the UN sponsored restoration of democracy in Haiti. NONE. Then make a neat little map of countries where Chavez and Maduro have undermined democracy. It would cover half of the region.
