More the former than the latter imo. Also, I'd be more concerned about the implications of why it is being normalised - why are people connecting more to the idea of being incel - is it because of some sort of cultural concept that devalues those who aren't in relationships?

I'm obviously just thinking off the top of my head, but I think there are more nuanced and interesting things to unpack from the idea of incel culture being normalised, its context and its relevance.
-
Well Incel culture is based on young males who feel like society owes them, while sex and relationships do play into it, incel stuff I've read tends towards a feeling of entitlement to attention, success, sex and a relationships because they are men.
-
Hmm, it's something I've never really cared about looking into, given that it's pretty much an internet forum 'den of iniquity' sort of culture. I'm just interested to know where it all stems from, and why it does so.
-
With regards to the memes you mentioned before, I'm actually interested to know if they originated with or have been coopted into incel ideas, because I've never really connected the two.

I think there must be some sort of toxic mixture that amalgamates a lot of the ideas of perfection in fiction, loneliness, and a feeling of being hard-done-by into this sort of ideology, which feeds off of people's vulnerability. It's kind of sad, but also really scary to me.
-
Yeah I would agree with that, it kind of spirals into a toxic mess of misogyny and entitlement very quickly. It hits home sometimes just how close I came to thinking these kinds of things

What worries me is how they use autism to excuse this entitlement
-
Yep, that is also something that I have seen some use as an excuse and its insulting and wrong. It's a toxic cult like ideology that prays on the disenfranchised
-
Yeah the funny thing is autism tends to be more if a condition of response rather than action
-
The whole meme of autistic screeching just gets on my nerves all together
-
I totally agree, its all just horrible
-
Yeah hell when I'm kinda lucky that I've meet some people who have dealt with autistic people in their lives though

Or when they say they hate women and that women are evil because no one will date them
