There’s a cute optimization that the shadow stubs caused on Windows — you no longer need to update the TSS Rsp0 on every context switch because now there’s a single per-LP micro kernel stack the CPU loads instead. So the switch to the per-thread kernel stack now happens manually.

I guess that may be path to read-only TSS and probably KVA shadowing gave that opportunity :-)
