stop counting CVEs. the CVE count depends on the vendor's policy a lot, therefore pretty useless for comparing vendors

look at some of those CVEs. at the top of the Google CVE list: CVE-2016-{7991,7990,7989,7988}, actually Samsung bugs

OTOH, the "Linux" list certainly isn't complete because the kernel people don't usually actively try to get CVEs assigned

the "Debian" list includes vulns in random IRC server software that would be treated as third-party software on Windows

also, it's MITRE policy that multiple issues with similar properties can/should be tracked as a single CVE
