there is a certain amount of trust when installing software from 3rd parties. How much do you want the software and trust the vendor.

yeah. and whether you curl|sh or copy a bunch of instructions doesn't really change much about that.

that said, installing via tar ball or package manager allows you to uninstall later. `curl | sh` is ephemeral and only installs.
