I can imagine that for videos. videos are huge anyway, and parsers need sandboxing anyway, so why not ship the parser in the video

webassembly will enable this most likely. It's already how the rest of the web works if you think about it.

yes for new video codecs. I hope we didn't build WebAssembly to move away from HW acceleration: ++battery_life w/ HW decoder.
