I can speak to *one* of my doorlocks. I can speak to my doorbell from anywhere in the world except this building, because network isolation is blocking my local network from communicating with its local network.

this is a real and common problem. Sadly. Is this GPON (fiber)? Many systems block CPE from communicating on same VLAN by default for “security”. Some cannot be configured to do it at all. Seen cases of SMB VPN from home not working & having to move SMB to new VLAN & IP to fix.

The rationale is usually to prevent MAC/ARP spoofing or rouge DHCP servers from CPE. Mostly because they are lazy & blocking all traffic is easier than doing DHCP snooping & inspection correctly.
