this thing gets executed through an apt hook when you install new programs; and this screenshot is from a box with an SSD. IIRC on machines with spinning disks, that thing takes a minute to run, for no good reason

what I find more amusing is the set_robust_list(); just in case you want semantics for some lock where if thread A somehow exits while holding the lock, thread B can steal the lock from thread A
