The moral isn't "Don't use systemd", the moral is "Write stuff in better languages than C". rsyslog doesn't exactly have an enviable security record either.

so yeah they have bugs that correspond to classic memory safety stuff, but they also have a pile of issues where a language with memory safety wouldn't help much. and even the issues that do correspond to classic memory safety issues might not cleanly map into the safe language
