Megaman 8's soundtrack is my favorite out of the whole series. It departs from the heroic tone of the classics and explores a more experimental/abstract vibe. It's bold, full of character and I love it!

In my point of view it perfectly captures the spirit of Mega Man as a character. It features toy-like instrumentation, it's bold in nature and many of the melodies sound almost "random", as if created by A.I. (e.g. title screen's bassline)

It's one of the most unique sounding in the series and I'm sad that the soundfont wasn't used more. It's super unfortunate because I feel like there was a lot of room to expand on compositions since no game SOUNDS like MM8.

I just wished the instruments had more of a punch. They are way too quiet for my liking, and makes some tracks generic as a result, it's why I prefer the 8-bit renditions of 8's soundtrack. Though Search Man, Tengu Man and Aqua Man are brilliant songs.

I know what you mean, but to be honest I don't miss that punch all that much here. I think these songs go where they need to go, even without the cosmetic boost of a stronger mix
