This morning I joined the many volunteers who donate time to helping pick up litter downtown. It feels great to help clean up the area to help our local businesses and residents. Thank you to everyone who joined the effort.

    Trick-or-Treat?
This year, the CDC says families shouldn't go trick or treating because of COVID-19. The safest way to celebrate Halloween is at home or through virtual events.
Why stay in?
1. It's hard to stay 6 feet apart when trick-or-treaters gather at front doors.
And handing out or collecting candy puts you in close contact with many more people than usual.
2. People without symptoms may have - and spread - COVID-19.
Trick-or-treating raises your risk of coming into contact with them.
3. Frequently touched surfaces like candy bowls, door knobs, porch railings, etc., could have the virus on them.
It's possible to get COVID-19 if you touch your face after touching one of these surfaces.
