... So, what's in this for *him*?? This gift horse should be not just looked in the mouth, but examined from nose to tail.

Political win. Doesn’t change access/affordability of these meds, just removes FDA. Real people with real (average/low) incomes don’t have access to meds not covd by affordable insurance. Exper meds not covered anyway.
-
Wait, so these drugs are not handed out to any who has a particular condition but only to those that can afford to pay for the FDA bypassed drugs? Please tell me that is not so?

Ted, how does this help? Compassionate use already available. FDA “barrier” removed still doesn’t give anyone but the richest access to these meds, correct? I’d like to know, because this may be of no use to everyday people facing rare terminal conditions.

I like how you put political differences aside and put people first. I wish Trump supporters would do the same

And I agree with the legislation

There’s a dangerous trend to disregard scientists & sciences; this bill further encourages that & the snake oil sellers

Too bad T & Rs are dismantling ACA & cutting Medicare and Medicaid to pay for 1% TaxScam. Right to try doesn't work well if unaffordable.

question - is there any incentive for insurance companies to pay for experimental treatments? That's often the prohibitive issue.

What do you think of this view: 'Right To Try' would accomplish little & could make it harder to get new drugs approvedhttps://www.cbsnews.com/news/right-to-try-bill-trump-signing-will-it-help-terminally-ill-patients-today-2018-05-30/ …

While I agree to the benefits of this bill, a real issue comes in to play in that most people cannot afford said treatments because insurance companies will not cover them.

I hope you're basing your vote on more than just that piece of information from your friend. There are already compassionate use programs. This is a win for pharmaceutical companies not for patients.

I'm liking this with reservations. I have a hard time believing he does anything for the greater good.

He must have a need for something that the FDA hasn't approved - or one of his billionaire buddies is working on a drug that isn't being approved. There is no way that monster would do anything for anyone but himself ever!

I think that’s the first right thing he’s ever done! Wow!

Which is why it scares me. A bill like this can do much good. It can also be abused. Corporations making big $$ off of human lab rats. This blade cuts both ways. Desperate people will try anything.

I know right?!!
