Biden supports an insane police “reform” bill that holds police are prima facie guilty of a profiling violation if they stop more men than women. /1https://libertyunyielding.com/2021/03/01/policing-reform-bill-could-lead-to-gender-based-police-stops-and-racial-profiling-of-asians-or-whites/ …

Police will have to stop policing or cities will surrender taxpayer dollars to criminals. The Biden DOJ can use the law to punish towns for failing to let criminals run rampant. This law is a disaster and must be stopped, even if it’s named after George Floyd.

Note that Asian-Americans commit a tiny fraction of crimes per capita of other Americans — but if police don’t stop Asians as often as any other race, they’re prima facie violating this law. But if police stop Asians because they’re Asian to meet quotas, they’re also profiling!/3

Really dumb bill passes by attaching George Floyd’s name to it. One hopes the Senate has more sense. /4https://twitter.com/jennfranconews/status/1367302107901005824 …

If someone is casing my neighborhood for houses to burgle, I’d like the cops to be able to question them before they get around to breaking and entering. The “criminal incident” limitation is very limiting. Most traffic and pedestrian stops aren’t for criminal incidents. /6https://twitter.com/paulrbotts/status/1367320085287874560 …

Note also that the mandatory recordkeeping requirements effectively defund the police, by taking officers off the street to do paperwork to help plaintiffs’ lawyers sue them later. /7

Democrats just doubled down as the party of Defunding the Police. Last night, they voted to impose hundreds of millions in new costs on police departments—the equivalent of 3,000 cops or more taken off of the streets. http://bit.ly/3bgZ7it

Bottom line: Obama actually reviewed some of this crazy stuff and canned a bunch of it. Current resident finds "sleepy time comfy" so most bizarre and extreme executive orders leave with his signature. The glory of the autopen. "More cocoa please".

I want to hear what the trans community has to say about this, because it assumes the police should know if someone is a man or woman before stopping them.
