Here in NZ for the last twenty years we have told our school kids they are brilliant, even when they do no work. Now they can't see the point in doing anything. The teaching profession is currently revising its ideas, too late though.

Let's do the Western country edition, where our taxes allow us to get healthcare, pay for childcare, have schools that have books from this century, Ted, roads and bridges that won't collapse, a government that cares for US more than corporate donors. Call it WHATEVER you want.
